A

Athanor is an art project initiated as a four-issues magazine (under the supervision of Leonardo Sonnoli) about arts and visual culture. The project is based on the assumption that every existing cultural object is conceived and produced through one of the following operations (each issue is dedicated to one of them):

Appropriation (copy, reinterpretation, plagiary)
Accumulation (archive, wunderkammer, encyclopedia)
Disclosure (reprint, republishing, multiplication)
Destruction (deletion, burning, damage, programmed obsolescence)

The project is continuing with a fifth issue dedicated to all the operations, spread in 2016 as a call for artists and launched in 2017 as a web exhibition in five chapters.
